Sunila Bali
Sunila Bali is the Principal and Founder of Seva Law, PLLC. A relentless advocate, Sunila is a strategic thinker and highly effective problem solver with a deep, multifaceted legal background. Her broad experience allows her to assess challenges from all angles and develop solutions that are both practical and well-rounded. Whether working with individuals, families, or businesses, she ensures her clients have the clarity and strategy they need to move forward with confidence.
Before founding Seva Law, Sunila built an extensive and multi-faceted legal foundation. At a multi-practice law firm, she handled complex immigration cases, corporate disputes, employment law, wage theft claims, contract negotiations, and family law matters, gaining insight into the intersection of various legal fields. As a tax resolution advisor at a leading CPA firm, she mastered IRS audits, penalty abatements, and the intricacies of business structures, helping clients navigate financial and regulatory hurdles. As in-house counsel for an IT company, she ensured compliance with employment laws, managed immigrant and non-immigrant filings, and negotiated vendor agreements, equipping her with a sharp understanding of corporate legal strategy. In her early career at a boutique immigration firm, she worked on business and family-based immigration cases, as well as affirmative humanitarian applications, including asylum, U visas, and T visas, strengthening her expertise in an area of law that affects individuals, families, and businesses alike. While in law school, she was deeply immersed in hands-on legal work, spending three semesters in the school’s clinic handling cases in family law, criminal law, general practice, and immigration.
Sunila’s diverse experience across various areas of law is what sets her apart. She understands how different legal disciplines intersect and impact her clients, giving her the ability to identify risks, anticipate challenges, and craft comprehensive solutions that only come with experience across multiple areas of law.
Beyond her legal practice, Sunila is deeply involved in community work. She serves on the board of the Women Empowerment Foundation, a nonprofit supporting individuals and families in Northern Virginia, where she advocates for greater access to resources and opportunities for those in need. She is also engaged in various philanthropic initiatives. In her spare time, Sunila enjoys performing in musical concerts and playing table tennis.
