McGavock ‘Mac’ D. Reed, Jr.

Mac represents lawyers and law firms in bar violation hearings, civil malpractice lawsuits, fee dispute litigation and arbitration. He also represents plaintiffs in legal malpractice lawsuits. His other areas of practice include criminal defense, family law, business law, and estate planning and administration.

Prior to starting his own practice, Mac worked as a respondent’s counsel at the Schumack Law Firm focusing on bar complaint defense work. Before that, he worked as a law clerk at the DC Office of Disciplinary Counsel prosecuting lawyers accused of ethics violations. While in law school, he served as the Executive Editor of the Journal of Contemporary Health Law and Policy, Vice Chancellor of Recruitment of the Moot Court Association, and a Member of the Society of Trial Advocates National Competition Team. 

When he is not practicing law, Mac enjoys playing basketball and flag football, and attending D.C. Old Glory Rugby Club matches. He is also the President of the Teamesteem Dream Corporation, a 501(c)3 corporation that helps area youth and young adults with education planning, financial planning, and career planning services.
